Give a boost to your site's search speed

When one needs something, usually want it fast' and with large, complex Joomla sites that may be a problem. Sometimes the search takes... okay, not forever, but long enough to think about how you can give it some extra speed. Here are some tips and tricks to accelerate Joomla search speed:

For most of the sites there are some searchboots which arenát really used. In most cases anyway the users only want tho search in articles, so you can disable the following search plugins:

Search - Weblinks
Search - Contacts
Search - Categories
Search - Sections
Search - Newsfeeds

To do this go to Mambots > Site Mambots in Joomla 1.0.* or Extensions > Plugin Manager in Joomla 1.5.* and can disable the above search plugins from there.

If you have a Joomla 1.5.* site, you can go one step further! If you don't have Uncategorized Articles or Archived Articles, you can disable them from the settings of Extensions > Plugin Manager > Search Content Plugin.
