In a previous tip where I described how you can made a Joomla 1.0.* site more secure by relocating the admin login page I presumed they yo're some code gurus.

But what if not? More and more webmasters today are casual Joomla users - and they deserve attention too!

Fortunately, from some time both for Joomla 1.0.* and  Joomla 1.5.* the above trickery can be made without messing around with code!

The problem - as I outlined in the original post - is that now everyone knows how Joomla works, and wich are the defaults. Making your site different from these defaults is making it safer. So what you need to do?

First of all go to their site and download the appropiate version. The one for Joomla 1.0.* is a module, the Joomla 1.5.* version is a plugin. Install them, and make the few, obvious installation settings.

Then sit back, grab a lemonade, beer, wine or scotch - at your preference - and enjoy your site's increased security.
