The default Joomla "Read More..." link is fine... but as always is room for improvement. Especially SEO wise, but not only. How about to have a more descriptive and compelling "Read more..." link, complete with the article title for example?

Okay, now you're happy, you can add and use flash banners in to the standard banners component in Joomla, using this tip , but what a heck! The links you carefully set up in the background aren't showing up at all. What you can do about?
Well... you have couple of choices. For instance you can build - or hire someone to build for you - some flash banners to have the links incorporated in them. Or... you can hack in again!

Have you ever seen this error message? Yea, correct it's seen in Media Manager when you try to upload files of certain types, as a MP3 file to use with your brand new MP# player module, or an Excel sheet to share whit your visitors.

Recently I needed to add flash banner support to one of my client's sites. I've tried out various banner components wich promised easy flash support, but all of them failed for various reasons (from code flaws to z-index problems - template incompatibility, etc.). In the last moments, just before being forced to crop up a new one  I found this little hack by Fotis Evangelou. Seems to be all over the net... Thanks for sharing!!!

The next major release of Joomla (version 1.5) will apparently have full https support without any hacks being necessary. But what you can do if you want to run your site ower https for some reason? You must hack here and there... When whe run into this problem, the above hack wasn't published yet and we learned how to do it on our own. But after we build our own hack, I accidentally found this one, which is more solid, as the one we developed. Be aware, that nobody guarantees to work on every server configuration or Joomla
installation. Enjoy the hacks - but on your own risk, we don't guarantee nothing here!
